Transboundary E-waste Controversy Map
Background :
Solving the E-waste problem requires clear international rules and effective implementation of transboundary movement (TBM) policies. Beyond the wide-spread perception of e-waste shipments being solely for dumping in developing countries, there are also shipments of used equipment for reuse and components for repair.
Objective:
- A comprehensive quantitative and qualitative review of the impacts of the various types of flows
- Provide an overview of national and international existing policies and of international implementation activities
- Developing a comprehensive view on what hinders and helps successful implementation of TBM policies in practice
- Develop a more coordinated evidence grounded approach recommendations
- Remove barriers towards Sustainability.
